Stone Shop Machine Operator - 2nd Shift
Machine Operators are responsible for operating machines used in the fabrication of quartz and natural stone countertops (Bridge saw, CNC saw, Waterjet, CNC Router).
As a Machine Operator, you’ll work with advanced machinery such as Bridge Saws, CNC Saws, Waterjets, and CNC Routers to cut and shape high-quality quartz and stone countertops. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and operate machines for cutting stone surfaces
- Load programs and ensure job accuracy using machine controls
- Use overhead cranes to safely move large stone slabs
- Monitor machines to ensure proper operation
- Remove scrap material by hand
- Perform visual inspections for defects and quality issues
- Document job progress, material issues, and completion
- Maintain a clean work area
Requirements
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills
- Ability to safely lift and move 100+ lbs. (stone slabs weigh 16–22 lbs./sq. ft)
- Ability to read tape measures and shop drawings
- Must be able to stand, kneel, crouch, and lift throughout the shift
- Dependable, team-oriented, and committed to quality work
- Prior experience in stone/quartz fabrication is a plus
Schedule
- 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 2:00 PM – 12:30 AM
- Overtime: Required as needed to meet production deadlines, which may include Friday/Saturday work.
