Accounting Associate

The Accounting Associate is responsible for a wide range of accounting duties including A/P, A/R, month end close processes, and various financial management reports.

Responsibilities Include:

Daily deposit, COD payment reminder emails, Month end sales reporting, journal entry preparation, credit card processing, account reconciliations, Sales/Use tax returns (3 states), process customer statements; Collections on past due customer accounts, email and phone calls; New customer credit application processing and collection of supporting documentation; New vendor processing and collection of supporting documentation; Year End schedules for tax returns; updating of various department scorecards; Provide backup for accounts payable and cash application; Maintain paperless filing system for all activities within the scope of this position; other projects or duties as assigned by management; Aligned with company core values to Be Compassionate, Thirst for Continuous Improvement, Be Innovative, Maintain a Customer Focus and Be Collaborative.

Qualifications/Skills Requirements Include:

Associates Degree or higher in accounting or business; 1-3 years of experience in an office environment; High attention to detail; Experience working in an ERP software environment; Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and other Microsoft Office software; Ability to apply math principles using a spreadsheet or calculator; Ability to recognize potential invoicing errors and communicate to others to provide direction to minimize similar errors in the future; Professional and polite communication skills when working with internal and external people; Ability to identify errors in accounting documents in their work as well as the work of others; Ability to handle financial information in a confidential manner; Ability to utilize the reporting that is available to ensure customer accounts are accurate; Dependable and reliable, and able to work flexible hours and overtime.

Schedule:

Standard working hours will be Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with some overtime as needed. This is a Full-Time position, working in person at our location in Hastings, MN.

Compensation & Benefits:

This is a non-exempt hourly position. Wage negotiable, DOE.
